What Is a Turbocharger Cartridge Kit?
A turbocharger cartridge kit — also known as a CHRA (Center Housing Rotating Assembly) kit — is a comprehensive set of precision components used to rebuild or replace the core rotating assembly of a turbocharger. Rather than replacing the entire turbo unit, a cartridge kit allows technicians to restore the turbocharger to like-new performance at a fraction of the cost.
The cartridge is the heart of the turbocharger. It houses the turbine shaft, compressor wheel, journal bearings or ball bearings, thrust bearings, seals, and the center housing — all components that are subject to extreme heat, pressure, and rotational speeds exceeding 150,000 RPM. Our cartridge kits are manufactured to exacting tolerances to ensure a direct-fit, drop-in restoration.

Why Rebuild with a Cartridge Kit
- Up to 60% cost savings compared to purchasing a brand-new OEM turbocharger
- Restores full boost pressure, throttle response, and fuel efficiency
- Direct-fit design — compatible with original turbine and compressor housings
- Eliminates common failure causes: shaft wear, bearing collapse, and oil seal leaks
- ISO-balanced assembly reduces vibration and prevents premature wear after rebuild
- Suitable for both workshop rebuilds and OEM-level turbocharger remanufacturing
- Reduces vehicle downtime with faster turnaround than full unit replacement
- Environmentally responsible — extends turbo lifespan and reduces scrap waste
